I have always thought that I might be an entrepreneur. In my first career as a baseball coach, I looked at my baseball program like a small business where I was the CEO.
In my work with Generis over the past 15 years, the idea of me being an Entrepreneur has only been reinforced. Recently, a good friend of mine recommended a book called The Entrepreneur Roller Coaster by Darren Hardy. In the book Hardy explains what it means to be an entrepreneur at heart along with many other practical applications for being an entrepreneur.
As I was thinking about this book and its application to my work, I started to realize that most pastors of growing churches think like entrepreneurs. There are many helpful ideas, practical applications, and goals in this book. And while it was written for the business world, it is easily transferable into the church world.
If you are a pastor and you think like a CEO or would like to learn more about thinking like one, then I recommend you give this book a read.
